Yellowstone: add it on the bucket list!

Yellowstone is one of the prettiest places i’ve ever visited for so many reasons. It’s the first national park in the world, known for its incredible geysers, hot springs, and diverse wildlife. The park is spread across three states and is home to stunning natural landscapes, including the famous Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and the iconic Old Faithful geyser.

i don’t know anywhere else in the world where you can be at the lake and the mountains at the same time, take a little drive to watch active geysers and another drive to see the grand canyon of yellowstone. the lakes are cold, sure, but still worth taking a dip in and the perfect picture spot. the entire park is breathtakingly beautiful and pictures honestly do not do it justice.

our first trip the husband and i rented a jeep, packed some snacks and would drive literally from sunrise to sunset. it’s one of the best trips we ever had so we had to take the kids back.

the kids were naturally a little tired of riding in the car at times but it was still a once in a lifetime trip they will always remember and limited cell phone service was good for them!

the grand prismatic spring was on my bucket list and it did not disappoint! The Grand Prismatic Spring is one of the most stunning natural features in Yellowstone National Park. It’s the largest hot spring in the United States and the third largest in the world. What makes it so special is its vibrant and surreal colors, which are caused by pigmented bacteria that thrive in the hot, mineral-rich waters. From a distance, the spring displays a brilliant spectrum of colors, ranging from deep blue in the center to vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows along the edges. The striking beauty of the Grand Prismatic Spring makes it a must-see attraction for visitors to Yellowstone.

although i will admit the kids were bored at times they thoroughly enjoyed seeing the wildlife up close and personal. stop along the route for wildlife as bison will literally walk up to your car window, block the road and be traveling along side you in a massive herd. the park’s diverse habitats support a rich variety of wildlife, making it a prime destination for nature enthusiasts and wildlife photographers. there are bears, moose, wolves, elk, the cutest little prairie dogs and so much more

if you spend a few days in yellowstone and get ready for a scenery change, i highly recommend the west yellowstone rodeo! they had contests for the kids, bull riding and just an overall great time. tickets were affordable and it was a fun break from the park (not that you need one) but we had kids and adults of all ages and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip.

between the scenery, the wildlife and remarkable parts of nature you will truly not see anywhere else i hope you book the trip to yellowstone, you will not regret it. life is short, take the trip!
